Casa Mila

Jessica tells us her story with this beautiful
Mediterranean house located on the Costa Blanca, Jávea.

It was a gift and an opportunity given to me by Milagros Lambert, daughter of a famous Swiss illustrator, engraver, painter and architect, André Lambert. He was so in love with Jávea that he left the intellectual avant-garde Paris where he lived to settle there. One summer in 2013, Milagros, an alert and creative woman, received Jessica in her house, adjacent to the Cala del Francés.

Milagros had a great way with children, she wrote books to explain to the youngest children who the most famous painters were, and she also had a television programme. My daughter Martina had just been born and I wanted to find myself again; I wanted to share the purest beauty with my children. She was always ready to welcome me at her house, lightly made up, wearing a pink esparto grass hat and a matching kaftan. She would tell me stories of when she came with her parents to Jávea from Paris, explained traditional architecture and talk about art, lots of art...

They always took the same path to the forest, where she would show Jessica how she had planted every tree they came across. At the end of the path was a little house, the little house that was used to accommodate their Parisian friends. There was a beautiful oasis of palm trees that her father, André had created.

The essence of the local materials and traditional architecture is what inspired Jessica to follow, to continue and to protect the authenticity of Jávea.“
